It's beautiful, it's full of entrepreneurs, it's developing. It's an experience of a lifetime. Tour guide David and Driver Francis were simply the best. They listened to all of our needs, wants, and strong opinions (13 of us) and accommodated us all. The restaurants Buka, Gulf Coast, Sandbox, Polo Club. Frankie's-very nice. Hotel Labadi was nice-be prepared for lots of festive during Christmas holiday season. For those with young adults (18-28) they would enjoy the action on the beach. Lancaster was away from the "strip" and somewhat quite. The casinos are small Millionaires and Caesars. We were able to exchange money. Some family ordered custom items arranged by David. #Landtours

The tour was so full of culture, history, education, emotion and... read more just pure joy. From exploring Accra, to Kwame Nkrumah's Memorial Park, to seeing wildlife, to putting our feet in the same waters where our ancestors took their final baths.... shall I keep going? We took a tour of the slave dungeons, where our ancestors passed through the door of no return on their way to slave ships, destined for a long and excruciating journey across the Atlantic Ocean.
We participated in a Traditional Naming Ceremony, where we danced with the Chief, Elders, and villagers. We were even given beautiful crafted gifts from the women.

Quite honestly, one of our favorite parts of the visit was spending time getting to know about life in Ghana through our guide (Gideon) and being driven in the bus with our driver (Frances). We cannot say enough good things about them. Our outstanding guide (Gideon) was so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the people and culture of Ghana. Gideon became family and it is hard to say farewell to him! He went ABOVE and beyond for us!

Many family & friends have been asking us about our experience. Our answer is that the visit to Ghana was one of the most meaningful cultural trips we’ve experienced. And we would recommend Land Tours (and specifically Gideon!) to anyone.
