Ancestors of the village believe that villagers were led to this secure place by a snail. Nzulezu is an Nzema word meaning “built on water.”
After an hour’s drive through a rubber plantation, enjoy a five-kilometer ride on the lake in a local dugout canoe (life jackets are provided). The ride takes you through areas of marsh and open pools fringed with palm thickets and opens out into the vast expanse of the lake.
